Rookie Offensive Tackle for the Tennessee Titans Taylor Lewan settled his three pending assault charges during a pretrial conference on Thursday.  Lewan’s trial was set to begin on Monday, the 27th.

Taylor Lewan was facing one misdemeanor assault and two misdemeanor assault and battery charges arising from an altercation last December in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Hours after losing his last game as a Michigan Wolverine to Ohio State, Lewan allegedly hit ttwo men outside a restaurant known as the Brown Jug.  Lewan claims he was breaking up a fight, and the victims refute it.

Lewan was drafted in the first round of this year’s NFL draft and has played in all seven of the Titans’ game, starting two of them.  With other offensive linemen sidelined for the season, Lewan is likely to be the starting Left Tackle going forward.  The terms of the settlement will not be made public until the hearing on October 30th.
