Second Lawsuit Filed in St. Louis Stadium Fight

There’s a new update to a story out of St. Louis we covered back in April. Late last month, a second lawsuit was filed in Cole County, Missouri seeking a declaratory judgment and writ of prohibition that Governor Jay Nixon and his appointed Task Force’s proposed funding of their $985 million stadium in St. Louis is illegal.  The suit is brought by six state legislators and on behalf of Missouri Taxpayers and names Governor Nixon and the Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority (RSA)…

In March, the NFL announced the league was accelerating its efforts to move an NFL franchise to the Los Angeles market. GA’s High Court OKs Atlanta’s $200M Injection into New Falcons Stadium Construction

The Georgia Supreme Court affirmed the lower court’s decision finding that Atlanta’s plan to issue $200 million in bonds to help finance the construction of a new stadium was within the bounds of the state constitution. Miami Dolphins Looking Forward to Renovated Stadium

Sun Life Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins, will get a $350 million facelift.  The Miami-Dade County Commission approved a deal by a vote of 7-4 to renovate the stadium.  The deal pays incentives to the Dolphins for hosting major events like Super Bowl in exchange for a $350 million renovation fund to be injected by Dolphins owner Steve Ross. The Atlanta Braves Are One Step Closer to a New Field

The Atlanta Braves are “thrilled” that the Cobb County Commission voted in favor of a public financing deal that will move the team out of downtown Atlanta for the first time since 1966.
